What are B Vitamins? What is Vitamin B?
The vitamins that are part of the B-complex group are B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin and niacinamide), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cobalamin), folic acid, pantothenic acid, biotin, choline, inositol and PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid). Relatively little is known about choline, inositol and PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid).
Although each B vitamin has its own unique, biological role to play and its own individual properties, as a group, these nutrients have so much in common, that they are often thought of as a single entity. In addition, the B vitamins work together in the body, and many of them are found in the same foods.
