Week 1 Challenge Results- Make-up Free for 1 week

Natural Beauty

Make-up free for one week was a little more challenging than I thought it would be.  No one commented on how I looked.  No one said that I looked tired, or like I didn't feel well.

I was pleasantly surprised to notice that a lot of people in my circle of friends and colleagues don't wear make up all of the time.  So, I didn't feel as out of place.

This challenge affected at how I looked at people in a magazine.  I noticed how fake they all look.  How everyone has to look perfect, which in some ways takes away from thier beauty.

I went shopping for a stove and I felt like some of the sales people brushed me off because of how I looked.  I'm not sure if that was just my perception or if was really true.

In the past few weeks I started adding mascara to my daily routine, so by eliminating putting on make-up I felt a little freer.  I had more time in the morning.  I feel more comfortable in my skin.

I really don't look at myself in the mirror very much so I didn't feel like I was examining my face.  Perhaps I should have to notice if going make-up free made a difference on my skin.  Perhaps I should have to really acknowledge how beautiful I am.  That probably would have been more of a challenge and more meaningful: Going make-up free and looking at myself in the mirror and telling myself how beautiful I am, and allowing myself to accept that.

Did this challenge make an impact on me?  Yes, but not a huge one. I'm not that attached to make-up, so it wasn't too hard to give up.

Would I go make-up free again?  Yes, definitely, but I would add a daily affirmation of my beauty.

Here's to being simply beautiful!
