TV Free Challenge Results

O.K. I admit it.  I wasn't able to go TV free for 1 week.  I was so surprised by this.  What you need to know though, is that the reason why I didn't make it, is because I simply forgot.

Last weekend we were away and after a long day of canoeing and finally getting the kids to bed, my husband sat down to watch some comedy on TV and relax.  And I sat down and joined him.  I didn't enjoy it.  I didn't find the jokes very funny.  Somehow I don't enjoy hearing crude language anymore.  I found the comedian to be quite intelligent in some of the jokes and stories he was telling, which I actually found more interesting.  After about 10 minutes, I had had enough and went to bed.

Same thing happened two nights ago.  After the kids were settled into bed, my husband sat down to watch TV.  I had no desire to sit and watch it with him, but I felt compelled to watch the screen for about a minute before I went upstairs.  Now it wasn't until yesterday morning that I realized that messed up my challenge.  And it wasn't even worth it.

Did this challenge have an impact on me?  Yes.  I realized that I can be hypnotized by TV if I'm not careful.  It also confirmed that I really don't enjoy watching TV.

Would I do it again?  Yes, although I don't think I need a challenge to go TV free.
